The chef plates the dish the way a guest gets it. For a photograph it has to be cooked differently.

This is where almost every picture a restaurant takes itself falls down. A dish that is perfect on the table is not yet perfect in front of a camera: it has to be cooked differently, cut differently and built differently to hold up as an image. Then there is the lighting and the angle — two things you see immediately in the finished picture and that nobody plans for in a kitchen.

I do the food styling myself. It is not the part somebody else takes over; it is the part that happens before the first frame. Set design and composition are bookable in the inquiry.

Born in February 1990 in the USA, at home in Frankfurt am Main. Photography and film have been my subject since I was fourteen, professionally since 2014 — dishes, drinks and product shots are made in the studio and just as often on location.
