Event photography at an Aperos Frenchies evening at the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera. A hotel as host brings a requirement of its own: alongside the evening, the house has to look good too, because both sides use the pictures. What came out of it is photography and video of the evening.
What was photographed is the terrace in evening light: guests in conversation at their tables, the towers of the banking district and the dome of the Alte Oper behind them, an orange wall with the partner’s mark on the left.
A roof above the city delivers the picture both sides need — the house and the organizer. It shows the address without anyone having to name it, and it keeps the guests in the foreground without anyone posing.
Late sun is the only time for it. It lights faces and façades at once, it warms the skyline, and it lasts about forty minutes — after that the city stands in shadow and the reception turns into a night picture.
