A Christmas trailer for Bucherer Fine Jewellery. Filmed in the boutique after dark: a bank of white gift bags tied with navy ribbon, the tree behind them in rosé and pearl, the street outside black behind the glass. A seasonal film in the luxury segment can barely show the product — it sells the gesture rather than the article, and so lives on material, light and order.
A pile of gift bags is an arrangement, not a find. Same sizes, same ribbon color, stacked to the height at which the camera still reads them as a surface — what looks like abundance is in fact a built pyramid.
The glass front behind the arrangement brings the street into the frame and with it the problem: at night a boutique window reflects everything lit inside. So the camera position follows from whatever is not being reflected.
In the luxury segment restraint is also a requirement. Price tags, card terminals, stacked stock — none of it belongs in a Christmas film; what is shown is the moment before the purchase, not the purchase.
