B&K GmbH is a well-known automotive trading company based in Osnabrück, Germany, and part of the Wellergruppe Holding SE & Co. KG. With 25 locations in the country, B&K sells new BMW and Mini cars as well as a selection of used cars. As part of the WELLERGROUP, one of the largest automobile trading groups in Germany, B&K is expanding its portfolio to include other brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Seat and Cupra. In 2021, B&K sold almost 23,000 vehicles, making it one of the largest BMW and Mini dealers in Germany. Customer orientation is at the heart of B&K’s corporate philosophy, which makes it particularly customer-friendly.
What was filmed is not the company but the audience: two young men in T-shirts reading “Mechatroniker loading…”, one pointing his thumb at the other, cars in the underground garage behind them under strips of fluorescent light.
A recruiting film for apprentices has exactly one job: it has to look credible. Two apprentices speaking for themselves convince more than a narrator — and the camera stays at eye level, because anything else looks like a works instruction.
An underground garage is the hardest light a dealership has to offer: cold fluorescent from above, deep shadows in the eyes, black cars that swallow everything. The balance comes from a surface lifting the faces from the front, without the place losing its color.
