The landmarked Steigenberger Hotel Köln is located in the city center only minutes away from several important historical sites. Cologne's famous cathedral and the Rhine promenade are a mere 20 minutes' walk away. More distant hot spots can also be easily reached using public transport.
Our 305 modern rooms, some with views over Cologne, are more than just a place to stay. Amenities include air-conditioning, satellite TV or cable connection, work desk, safe, minibar and coffee- and tea-making facilities.
The frame that carries the set is the lift lobby: four bronze doors in stepped surrounds of dark marble, walls in warm travertine, a chandelier of glass rods in a ceiling coffer, wall lights throwing up and down, large marble slabs underfoot.
A room like that permits exactly one camera position — dead on the center line, or the surrounds tilt against each other and the symmetry the whole design rests on is gone. On top of that, every light source here runs a different color temperature: halogen on the walls, glass overhead, and the blue of the exit sign.
