Rooms and public areas at the Hotel Rose in Rüdesheim. The series works through the categories the way a booking page does: double rooms with yellow-green accents and floral cushions, an armchair corner at the window, the desk and television against the timber wall, the bathroom, and the tray with kettle and coffee machine. A house with many room types needs one visual language across all of them, or the booking pages look inconsistent.
One room frame that shows two rooms at once: the edge of the bed with its yellow cover in front, the back of the television beside it, and beyond the opening the sitting corner with two chairs in a yellow-gray rose pattern, a yellow-green pouffe, a floor lamp with a white shade and a small round table.
The trick is the opening. A hotel room reads as larger when it is shown through one rather than head-on — the wall edge in the foreground gives the picture a first plane and the eye runs into depth. That both areas carry the same yellow is what holds them together; without that repetition they would be two pictures in one.
