Some places are not photographically finished when a production ends. Light, season, use and events change them so much that a second picture story could look entirely different.
Frankfurt, the Rheingau and the Alps
The Frankfurt Westhafen offers that mixture of water, modern architecture and historic buildings. In the Rheingau the vineyards and terraces change color across the year: at the Georg Breuer winery a date in October looks nothing like one in June.
The Henninger Turm shows the city in a new mood depending on the weather and the hour. Places such as the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol or the Bilster Berg tie their architecture and landscape to conditions that keep shifting.
Returning is not repeating
Going back does not mean making the same pictures again. The difference is the interesting part: a restaurant in full service instead of before opening, a terrace in autumn, or a car production under changed weather.
A good place holds several stories
A good location does not supply one subject. It offers several possible stories, and which of them gets told is often decided on the day of the shoot.
