My favorite pictures of Frankfurt are not necessarily the best known views of the city. More often they are frames in which a place and a short moment happen to line up.
Four places, four moods
One of them is the skyline behind the curved bar at the Franziska during blue hour. At the Druckwasserwerk it is the symmetrical view of the lit bar inside the historic brick arch.
The Goldene Waage shows Frankfurt through color, craft and interior architecture. At the Westhafen, the terrace, the water and the planting tell a distinctly more modern side of the city.
Events belong to it as well
Events are part of this personal picture of Frankfurt too: a full hall, a reaction in the audience, or a team on its way to the finish of the Corporate Challenge.
Not a record of the whole city
Taken together these frames are not a complete record of the city. They show the places where actual commissions gave me time, and where I came to know Frankfurt from a particular angle.
