The 2022 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt, filmed for the Capco team. The finish banner hangs across the street with the race clock running, city façades to either side. In a race with tens of thousands of runners the work is finding one particular team again — the starting block, the position and the shirt color decide the outcome, not the camera.
The finish banner with its running clock is the only place where a race like this labels itself. Everything else is crowd: streets full of runners, barriers, spectators at the side — without the clock and the banner every frame looks like every other.
Finding one company team in a field that size is preparation, not luck. Start time, block number and shirt color are known in advance, and the position along the course follows from them — not from where the light is best.
And the finishing straight is the only place where faces tell you anything. On the course everyone runs alike; at the finish it becomes clear whether the race was a sporting event for a team or a company outing.
