A location teaser for the Persian restaurant Zarathustra. What was filmed is the empty dining room: a long row of tables under white linen along a buttoned white banquette, dark chairs in front of them, a gold-toned wall behind and a blue backlit ornamental screen in the ceiling cove.
In the foreground stands a bench in paisley fabrics, a high wing chair beside it. That is the point where the house shows where it comes from: the room is otherwise restrained — white cloth, dark wood — and the pattern is set deliberately against it.
Filming before service is not a fallback for a location film, it is the brief. What is being advertised is the room, not the evening: anyone planning a celebration wants to count the row, see the routes between the tables and know what the place looks like without guests in it.
The blue screen is the only cool color in the room. Blue against gold is a contrast that cannot be resolved in the frame without losing both colors — so it stays, and the exposure goes on the warm light above the tables.
