Congress and event photography at the me Convention in Frankfurt, a conference on mobility and technology with Mercedes-Benz. A format that sits between trade conference and festival needs pictures from both worlds: stage and audience, talk and exhibition. The set covers the program and the grounds.
The cover frame is the event’s lettering on black. For a format that lives on stage, exhibition and audience at once, it is the only picture that means all of it and pre-empts none of it.
Half of conference photography is planning. Program items run in parallel, speakers are available for a few minutes at a time, and exhibition floors are empty only before the doors open — without the schedule in advance you photograph whatever crosses your path.
The other half is light. Stages are colored and constantly changing, foyers are bright and neutral, exhibition stands somewhere in between — and all three kinds of picture end up side by side in the same report.
