Moet Party Day Event Fotografie
Event photography for Moët & Chandon: pictures from the 2017 Moët Party Day. The largest party in the world was celebrated in over 30 countries, from Italy…
On June 17th, Moët & Chandon celebrated Moët Party Day around the globe, a unique day for everyone who enjoys life to the full, celebrates the moment and loves to celebrate with friends. The largest party in the world was celebrated in over 30 countries, from Italy to Hong Kong, from France to New Zealand: Moët & Chandon was the sender and host of this worldwide happening, which was recorded online via #moetpartyday and #moetmoment.
For the pictures that means one thing: they have to be recognizable as this day and not as a party in general. So the brand's own material sits at the center — the poster reading “June 17th Moët Party Day 2017 — Official Location” on the glass door, the neckbands carrying the same date, the photo-booth strips in the guests' hands. Without those anchors the set would be one evening among many and could not be assigned to the campaign at all.
The bottle frame is the picture the brand actually needs, and it is still not a studio still life. Three bottles on dark lacquer, the light from the side, placed so the neckband stays legible and the label does not blow out. The reflection in the wood is left in: a bar reflects, and a product shot that retouches that away looks as though it was made somewhere else.
The strip of booth photographs held over gold confetti is the frame that shows the mechanics of the campaign in one image. A picture of the room shows that a lot of people came; this crop shows what the guests actually did that evening, and what appeared under the hashtag the next day.
It was shot from above and without flash. Gold confetti on a dark floor turns into white specks under direct flash; in available light it keeps its color, and the motion blur at the edges belongs to an evening where people are dancing.
Even the poster is photographed at an angle, with the reflections left in the glass. Straight on it would be a reproduction of a poster. At an angle it is a picture of a door with one of the official locations behind it.
