Golf is spread across an entire course and demands silence at the moment of the strike — you work at distance, on a long lens, knowing the schedule, and look for frames where the brand is present without being staged.
The cover sheet of the set is the wordmark on white. At a brand tournament that is not embarrassment but instruction: photograph for a brand and you deliver in its order, and part of that order is that the mark comes first and the best picture second.
On the course the opposite of staging applies. A golf tournament runs in eighteen places at once, every flight keeps its own schedule, and the camera is the only thing moving between the holes — the pictures follow a routine you have to know rather than interrupt.
And quiet is part of the job. A shutter released on the backswing is the mistake you make exactly once; hence distance, a long lens, and frames taken in the pauses between shots.
