A campaign for Epowerfun in Wiesbaden. The city is part of the product promise here: the colonnades by the Kurhaus, the streets of the center, the forecourt of the congress center, a façade of mirrored cubes. Nobody rides in sportswear — it is a blue suit and a pale blazer, because the target is the commute, not the weekend loop. Alongside that the product side: the folded scooter at the steps, and the rear light in close-up next to a foot on the deck.
In this campaign the clothing carries more of the message than any product frame. A blazer and white trousers say commute; the same person in a sports jacket and trainers says weekend, and that is a different product. Casting and wardrobe therefore come before the question of which angle flatters the scooter.
A riding frame can only be made from movement. The camera travels alongside, at the same height and the same speed — stand at the curb and you photograph a passer-by riding past, and it shows immediately. Then the shutter speed is a balancing act: short enough to hold the face and the handlebars, long enough for the asphalt to streak under the wheels. Without that streak the scooter looks parked in the middle of the road.
The evening frame with the two scooters on the cobbles answers the real objection to a vehicle like this. It is not the price and not the range, it is whether you would want to be out on it after dark. So the rear lights are on, the fountain is lit, and the sky still has color in it: visible, without the picture looking like night.
And the city is not a backdrop, it is an argument. Clean pavements, bollards, colonnades, kept lawns — against that setting the scooter reads as transport. The same machine photographed in a car park sells nothing.
