A promotional teaser for a Bushido club show. The film opens with the artist’s logotype on black, deliberately offset in color and broken up — a treatment that comes out of the genre and makes clear in the first seconds what this is. A concert teaser is needed before tickets go on sale and has to build expectation from existing footage.
Color offset and glitch are not a mistake here but a quotation. They come out of the aesthetics of the genre, they deliberately leave the teaser undated, and they make it possible to build expectation from very little material.
A teaser before ticket sales has a problem: there are no pictures of this evening yet. What is left is the lettering, the date and a handwriting — and the handwriting has to fill the gap the missing material leaves.
Short is the only right length. A promotional clip runs in a feed between other videos, starts without sound and is swiped away after two seconds — whatever comes later is seen only by people who already wanted tickets.
