Rüdesheim is usually described through the Rhine, its wine and a handful of well-known viewpoints. In my productions the town also appears as a place of work for hospitality and hotels.
A house in the vineyard
The Rebenhaus shows that connection most clearly. The terrace lies under vines, and the Rhine valley opens up behind it. Guest rooms, dishes and an aerial frame complete the view into a full portrait of the house. Further projects such as the Hotel Rose, the Zwei Mohren, the Altdeutsche Weinstube and regional dining concepts widen that perspective.
Landscape is not a backdrop
On a production like this, the landscape should not be treated as an interchangeable background. It is part of what the house offers. A room becomes understandable through its view, a terrace through the slope it stands on, a meal through the place where it is served.
A region with a visual identity of its own
So the pictures tell Rüdesheim as an interplay of hospitality and landscape – not merely as a destination, but as a region with a visual identity of its own.
