A production is not finished with the last frame. What follows is the work that turns the material into a consistent, usable set of pictures.
A review, not an unfiltered pile of files
First the material is checked technically and on content. Test frames, closed eyes, repeats and weaker variants are sorted out. The point is not to hand over every shutter release but to provide a selection that can be followed.
Selecting in the private client portal
The pre-selected pictures sit in a private gallery in the client portal. Favorites are marked there, and the finished files are downloaded from the same place later. File names and selection stay unambiguous, and long lists by e-mail are unnecessary.
The agreed look
The color mood and the kind of editing are settled before the shoot. A true-to-color, restrained look is a different thing from a glossy finish with retouching. The selection is then worked out consistently to that agreement.
Depending on the job that includes color and contrast correction, cropping, perspective adjustments, HDR or more extensive retouching. What is part of the production is stated in the quote.
Additional requests
Further pictures, new color variants, black-and-white versions or extra retouching can be commissioned afterwards. I publish fixed rates for that by area of production. The specific quote always takes precedence.
Handover for the intended use
The finished files are supplied in the agreed formats. Whether the material is for the web, for print, for the press or for social media should be known before the shoot. Nothing then has to be improvised later out of an unsuitable file.
Video projects are reviewed through Frame.io. Sound, editing and color grading are done in house.
