Lavenue Bar Frankfurt – Interior Bilder — Photo production
Interior photography at the Lavenue bar in Frankfurt: the rooms and the lounge. The L'Avenue Bar in Frankfurt, photographed empty and in its own light.
The L'Avenue Bar in Frankfurt, photographed empty and in its own light. The room is violet throughout: velvet armchairs and banquettes in blue, illuminated ovals set into the wall, a staircase lit from beneath each tread, the logo as a lightbox at the entrance. Plus the details you recognize a bar by — the table card of drink specials, empty glasses against the light, a Patrón bottle in the ice trough, a candle on the table. In a room with almost no light you work from a tripod and let the exposure do the job.
The bar is a long, narrow tube, and the frame uses exactly that: a view from one end to the other, the raised level to the left with a chesterfield bench and round tables against a wall of faceted gold panels, blue velvet chairs at oval tables to the right beneath three round wall objects lit from behind. A string of black rods with glowing points hangs over the aisle.
The violet LED in the coves and the warm gold of the panels are two colors of light at war with each other. You cannot make both neutral, so you choose: here the gold stays warm and the violet is allowed to be violet — the oak floor down the middle is the neutral surface the eye orients itself by.
