The radio station HIT RADIO FFH organized a drive-in cinema event with the theme of Christmas on the third Saturday of Advent in 2020 with the Dreieich Nordpark shopping center. It was demonstrated on the parking deck. The organizers wanted to make families happy. The Christmas blockbuster The Polar Express was shown. The proceeds from the event support a social project.
What was photographed is a drive-in cinema. The inflatable screen reads "Der Polarexpress", with the Hit Radio FFH logo below it and the note that the sound runs on FM 92.2; three of the station's banners hang along the bottom edge. Cars stand on wet asphalt in front, and the shopping center's advertising pylon glows to the left with the names of its tenants.
A screen at night is an exposure problem: it is the only bright surface for a long way, and exposing for it gives you black all around. What carries the picture is the rain — it turns the car park into a mirror that throws the light of the screen and the pylon back, and fills the bottom half of the frame at all.
