A party trailer for the Neighborhood Love Affair series at Chinaski and Zenzakan. The shot that sets the tone is a laid table in half-darkness: white napkins standing like sculptures, wine glasses, candles, chandeliers above and blue and violet light behind. Two neighboring venues in one night means moving between two lighting worlds and two moods.
A laid table in half-light is the opening an evening across two houses needs. It shows the state before service, and it shows it in the light people will later eat in — candles, chandeliers and a colored background.
Two neighboring houses mean two white balances and two volumes. Bringing them into one film means building the transitions: the same visual language, the same closeness, and color as the thing that tells the halves apart.
And between the houses lies the walk, which belongs in it. Guests moving from one place to the other are the only thing that tells the series as a series — without them it is two trailers side by side.
