After dark, the photographic language of a place changes. Bottle walls, neon, street lighting and stage light stop being mere illumination and become the subject itself.
Bars, reflections and stage light
In bars such as the Chinaski Tagesbar, colored drinks, reflections and blurred points of light carry the series. At the Amoroso, the atmosphere comes out of warm wall lights, glass and mirrored surfaces. Events add movement and lighting conditions that change from one minute to the next.
Color belongs to the evening
On this kind of production I do not try to neutralize every color. Green neon or violet stage light is part of what the evening was. What matters instead is catching faces, products and the important details where they stay readable despite the intensity around them.
Many worlds of light, not one dark city
So the night sets do not show Frankfurt as a dark city. They show it as a collection of very different worlds of light – from the quiet restaurant bar to a full event hall.
