Many companies need new pictures regularly but arrange a separate shoot every time. That costs coordination, interrupts the working day and often produces material that does not match. A planned content production builds a coherent library for several channels in a single day.
The most important step happens before the shoot: what is needed is not as many pictures as possible, but the right subjects in the right formats.
Channels first, then the shot list
A website, LinkedIn, press work and recruiting all ask for different things. A home page often needs a wide frame with space left free. LinkedIn works with closer, more direct situations. Press pictures have to show the people and the occasion unambiguously. Recruiting needs a real view of the working environment and how people work together.
A sensible plan can hold groups like these:
- the company and its location,
- management and team,
- working situations,
- services or products,
- details and atmosphere,
- vertical frames for social media,
- wide frames for the website and presentations,
- short video sequences or statements.
Think in series, not in single pictures
One situation can deliver several variants. A working sequence yields an overview, a tighter frame, a detail and a vertical version. The same story can then be told on different channels without repeating the identical photograph.
In my productions the look is agreed before the shoot and holds for every frame. Where photography and film are needed together, both come out of the same visual language. Sound, color grading and editing are part of the production and are not bought in.
A realistic schedule for the day
The day should be organized by area and by who is available. Staff portraits can run in fixed slots while rooms and details are prepared before work starts. Interviews need quiet; observed working situations do better inside the real routine.
Prepared clothing, released rooms, tidy backgrounds and one contact person who can decide on the spot all help.
Selection and use after the shoot
After the shoot the pictures sit in a private gallery in the client portal. The selection is made there and the finished material downloaded from it. Video projects are reviewed through Frame.io.
Who selects internally, and which formats are needed, should be settled while planning. That turns a production day into a usable stock for the months ahead rather than an unsorted pile of files.
How such a production is charged is set out under prices; additional services are listed under additional services.
