When taking a trip to Thailand, the most expensive part of your trip is probably the flight. Therefore, you can make the most of your trip by staying at least three to four weeks, as this way you can offset the cost of airfare with cheap food and accommodation. In Lamai on Koh Samui, for example, you can find beach bungalows for around 500 baht per night, which is around 11 EUR depending on the exchange rate, with cheap groceries and public transport.
