The redesigned five-star Kempinski Hotel Bahia is located between the charming fishing village of Estepona and the luxurious and optimistic town of Marbella, with its prime location on the beaches and stunning views of the Mediterranean and coastal areas Welcome to the Costa del Sol Africa and Gibraltar.
The resort includes a bar, and in color it is the opposite of the beach: walls of green tile laid in herringbone, a counter topped in copper, shelves of bottles behind it lit from the back. In front, bar stools in brown buttoned leather, and between them red-and-white rattan chairs with red cushions, on terracotta tiles.
The front of the counter is painted — palm fronds on green — a long ribbed-glass pendant hangs over it, and there is rosemary in a clay pot on the table. A room where red, green and copper sit next to each other forgives no error in white balance: here the colors are the subject, not the lighting.
