Hotel photography at the Kivotos design hotel in Imerovigli on Santorini. Cave suites have few windows and vaulted ceilings, which makes even light all but impossible — the frames live on leading the eye outside. The set shows suites, pools and the caldera view.
One of the frames does not show the view but a door. Suite 2: anthracite frames against gray-blue render, the number in bronze, in front of it a red bromeliad in a wooden box, a round table with a marble top and two black chairs, a succulent on the side table. The sea is reflected in the panes.
The work was done at the blue hour, and that is not a mood decision here: a house in these colours — dark gray on gray — loses all detail in midday sun, because the Cycladic brightness flattens everything. Only when the ambient light falls to the strength of the interior lighting does the facade have depth again.
