Home office – shoot concept — Portrait photography
Portrait and lifestyle photography on the home office: an editorial series. The current situation suddenly turned the home office into another option.
The current situation suddenly turned the home office into another option. Framework conditions are required for this operation to be successful. Because “new work” takes getting used to for employees and superiors.
The subject was photographed as a drawn room: walls, shelves, window, houseplants and desk are white card with black outlines, and real objects stand among them — a computer under the table, a keyboard, the person in a white shirt.
The effect only holds if both halves match. Everything real has to be white as well, or the set tips into craftwork; so clothing, furniture and floor are brought to the same tone, and the only color in the frame is skin.
A set like this is handmade and good for one use. It earns its keep when a term has to be pictured that does not exist as a subject: “home office” is not a place but a condition — and a drawn room shows exactly that, an idea of what working could look like.
