The “Bollicine & Co. Champagne Bar” is celebrating its opening at Wertheim Village, one of Germany's leading outlet centers. This stylish bar offers an exquisite selection of fine champagnes and food, complemented by an elegant setting.
The concept aims to turn a shopping trip at Wertheim Village into a complete experience by providing an oasis of relaxation and enjoyment. The opening of the “Bollicine & Co. Champagne Bar” fits seamlessly into Wertheim Village's ambition to offer its customers an exclusive shopping experience alongside a wide range of culinary pleasures.
The set starts outside at dusk, in front of the open door. Guests stand in coats in the lane, pink chairs against the façade, the wordmark in gold above the awning, warm light glowing out of the arches inside. That single frame does more than any interior shot: it shows at once what the bar looks like, that it is full, and where it stands — on a row of shops in the Village, among the other buildings.
The window for it is narrow. Before dusk the street is brighter than the interior and the door is a dark hole; an hour later everything outside is black. Only in the twenty minutes between can sky, lane and interior be held in one exposure.
Inside, the task reverses. An opening is tight, loud and crowded, and there is no position from which the whole room is visible. Rather than attempt it, the set works with individual guests at the counter, with the crowd cut into the frame behind them — a glass of champagne in hand, a plate of antipasti on the ledge, a waiter in the background. A full room assembles itself out of pictures like that without ever being seen whole.
The setting is exposed for rather than washed out. The champagne bottles in the lit shelves are this place's signature; the moment a flash comes from the front they lose their backlighting and become green bottles on a wall.
