Traveling can get expensive when you consider all the costs you might have – flights, transport, accommodation, food, and the list goes on. Fortunately, there are places that don't require too much money, and we highlight those that seem most promising for a great trip. 1. Thailand – Lamai
If you take a trip to Thailand, the most expensive part of your trip is likely the flight. Therefore, you can make the most of your trip by staying at least three to four weeks, as this allows you to offset the flight costs with cheap food and accommodation. In Lamai on Koh Samui, for example, you can find beach bungalows for about 500 Baht per night, which corresponds to around 11 EUR depending on the exchange rate, with affordable food and public transport.

2. Greece – Ios
Just a few kilometers from the busy and touristy Santorini lies one of the cheapest travel destinations in Europe: the island of Ios. It is almost as beautiful as Santorini, with white houses clinging to the hillside – but it is much cheaper. Hotels here start at very low prices and offer you the best of Greek cuisine. If you are looking for a Mediterranean experience at low prices, Ios is definitely worth a visit!

3. Thailand – Bangkok
The capital of Thailand is a melting pot for people from all over the world and offers a unique city break experience. At the same time, it is easy to find affordable accommodation here, and even four-star hotels often offer special deals for just 20 euros per night for a double room with a refreshing rooftop pool. For a short-term city trip, Bangkok is therefore an excellent travel destination.

4. Nepal – Nagarkot
A flight to Nepal may be quite expensive, but it is still on our list of the most affordable travel destinations. As with the previous destinations, you will find high-quality accommodation and food here at a low price that makes up for the expensive flight. Particularly interesting is the village of Nagarkot, which gives you a deep impression of Nepalese village life, including breathtaking views of the hillside, not too far from the capital Kathmandu.

5. Morocco – Marrakech
Marrakech is an imperial city with vibrant squares and beautiful gardens. Behind the red city walls, the Atlas Mountains rise into the sky, making it one of the best places in Morocco. Even though the city seems very luxurious, you can find good accommodations here for less than 100 euros per night.

6. Spain – Costa Brava
The Costa Brava is an ideal destination for a budget-friendly and enjoyable vacation, just 40 minutes from the Catalan capital, Barcelona. The coastline of over 220 km and the rocky landscape will likely amaze you and bring you back in the future. Especially in summer, the Costa Brava is a suitable travel destination with mild summer temperatures and beautiful beaches.
