The VGF - everyone is on board
Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main, or VGF for short, is a transport company in Frankfurt and an urban transport service provider. Around 400 rail vehicles ensure full mobility of 9 underground trains and 10 trams. VGF is also responsible for rolling and fixed infrastructure, traffic management, cleaning, security, service and customer service.
VGF has more than 2,400 employees, including 850 train drivers. This makes the VGF one of the largest employers in the city and in the Rhine-Main area. It ensures that Frankfurt and its more than 750,000 residents, as well as those who live, work or visit sights in the city during the day, keep moving forward. Because on weekdays, more than 380,000 commuters turn Frankfurt into a metropolis - fortunately not all use cars. In 2019, the VGF metro and trams carried more than 200 million passengers.
