Fine art portrait
A portrait session that does not have to prove what you look like at the office. I develop a look with you, build the light for it and turn it into a picture that belongs on a wall.
What is different
A headshot is meant to show what someone is like. A portrait made as a work of art is allowed more: a character, a mood, a side of you that has no room in everyday life. So I do not start with a date, but with a conversation about what the picture should say.
Out of that comes a look that belongs to you rather than to a catalog. Light is my main tool in it: it decides what stays in the dark, and only then does a photograph become a picture.
01
We talk about ideas, references and moods before a date is set. Pictures from my gallery, from Pinterest or from your own collection help.
02
Clothing, colors, props and background are matched to the idea. The aim is a picture that looks like you and like nobody else.
03
Everything is possible, nothing is required. If the idea calls for it, I bring in a makeup artist on request; what fits is settled in the first conversation.
04
Hard light, candlelight, color from a single direction: I build the light for this one picture, not for every picture. The editing on screen does the rest.
Formats
Three formats that build on each other. Which one fits depends on the idea, and that is exactly what the first conversation settles.
One look
One idea, one look, one light. The shortest way to a portrait that stands on its own.
Two to three looks
Several looks that tell a story together, from the quiet picture to the loud one. Made for anyone who wants to see an idea in variations.
The finished portrait as a print
A study or a series, and at the end the picture hangs on the wall: as a fine art print, printed like my prints under Editions and signed by me.
Priced by concept: you get an offer after the first conversation, once it is clear what the picture needs.
Process
01
By phone or email: what should the picture say, which mood, which colors? Afterwards you get an offer.
02
I set the idea down in a concept: clothing, props, light and, if you like, makeup or body paint. You see beforehand where it is going.
03
In the studio or at a place that fits the idea. I take the time it needs for the unfamiliar to wear off, and work look by look.
04
You choose in a password-protected online gallery, and I edit the pictures. With the edition, the signed print follows.
Pictures
A selection from my free portrait work: body art, masks, costume and light that hides more than it shows.

Tell me which idea or mood you have in mind, ideally with a few pictures you like. In a first conversation by phone or email it becomes a concept, and then you get an offer with a fixed scope and price. The inquiry commits you to nothing.
A session starts at 250 euro plus VAT. What lies above that is decided by the scope. How pricing works
