In mid-2007 the owner changed his name to Frankfurter Welle from Die Welle, which consists of three buildings in the Westend-Süd district of Frankfurt. The building complex has a total construction area of 80,600 square meters and is named after the wave-shaped building planned by JSK from 1998 to 2003. The building is twelve stories high and up to 50 meters above the ground. The city of Frankfurt am Main has combined its architectural features with the street name An der Welle.
The frame shows the building across its corner, from the far side of the street. A sandstone façade from the Gründerzeit with pilasters, garlands and cartouches, a slated mansard roof with dormers above it, the Julius Bär lettering on both faces at the corner. Behind the old building stands the curved glass attic of the extension, modern offices left and right.
A corner view is the only one that shows both façades of a building like this — and the hardest, because the verticals run in two directions. Taken in the early evening under a diffuse sky: direct sun would have burnt out the ornament on one side and put the other in shadow.
